Hi Malcolm,
I recently tried running the demo and could not reproduce your error. Do you currently
have the 'lme4' package installed on your machine? It is necessary to run the
'ls.mixed' model.
If not, simply installing the latest version off of CRAN should fix the error:
install.packages('lme4')
