Hi,
I have used genetic matching for some work I did and was very satisfied with the results (balance wise). I like the idea underlying the procedure. Now someone told me that the implementation is flawed and that this has been shown in the literature insofar as other procedures result in better balance with less effort. Is that true and which applications have shown this? Why is genetic matching not used more often or does it just need time to take off? Are the computational demands a reason? Ho et al. (2007: 222) say it's promising but don't use it themselves for their application.
