I have a question on using Clarify for probabilities with my data set: Do I have to do a
"setx mean" before I setx each category of my predictor variable for individual
probabilities? For example:
setx mean setx ideology 1 simqi
setx mean setx ideology 2 simqi
setx mean setx ideology 3 simqi
then setx mean setx partyid 1 simqi etc.etc. I am interested in getting the correct
probabilities for each category of my independent variables.
I ask b/c I get different probabilities when I don't set all other predictors to
their means each time before setting the specific category of each of my predictor
variables. I don't know method is correct. I looked on pp. 11 and 17 of your Clarify
(2003) website text and wasn't sure. I think I want to set all predictors at their
means each time prior to setting each category and then run the simulation to get correct
result (like above). This is my first time using clarify. Please respond. Thank you.
