Hi, there!
I am graduate student of political science in Texas A&M and have been using
the CLARIFY program for years.
Days ago i tried to reproduce the Figure1: Probability of Voting by Age in
"Making the Most of Statistical Analyses" (King, Tomz and Wittenberg 2000),
while i encountered a problem (bug?) when using the commands in Stata 8.2.
Well, I downloaded the data set and the replication code from
http://gking.harvard.edu/data.shtml. When i tried to use the command in
Stata 8.2, the Stata always responded with the error message "class member
function not found r(4023)".
I attached the downloaded data (turnout.dta), replication code (turnout.do),
and the log of using the command under Stata 8.2 (turnout.smcl) to this mail
for your reference. Please refer especially to the end of the log file which
has the error message as following:
plo12graph_g.new phi12 plo16 phi16 ageaxis, s(iiii) c(||||)
xlabel(18,24,30,36,42,48,54,60,66,72,78,84,90,95)
ylabel(.2,.4,.6,.8,1) l1(Probability of Voting) gap(3) b2(Age of
Respondent): class member function not found
r(4023);
end of do-file
r(4023);
Could you solve this problem? Thanks for your time and reply in advance.
