Thanks for the reply. One more question: Has the RxC
approach withstood a
Frye challenge? Do you have an example of the method being accepted by a
court or used by DoJ in a Section 5 preclearance submission?

Subject: Re: [ei] Two-stage EI model
Hi Mike, just to add to Molly's point: the 2 step EI approach has pretty
much been supplanted by the RxC approach, so we'd suggest you start there.
We're working on including this in eiR, but for now you can still use it
as per Molly's point.

Hi Mike,
eiR as it is right now does not support eiRxC models; however, the R
package eiPack has the capability to do eiRxC models and implements the
Rosen, Jiang, King and Tanner (2001) eiRxC model.
Let me know if you have any more questions about this!

Gary,
I have installed the EI version for R and have successfully run a
one-stage EI model that is consistent with Goodman’s regression estimates
for a turnout model on the same data. I am wondering if there is any
available code to run a two-stage EI model to further estimate voting
propensities by race, while accounting for turnout.
Best regards,
