Greetings,
I followed these steps to install ReadMe on Ubuntu 11.10:
1. sudo apt-get install r-base
2. download the following tar files from
http://r.iq.harvard.edu/src/contrib/
-
http://r.iq.harvard.edu/src/contrib/VA_0.9-2.10.tar.gz
-
http://r.iq.harvard.edu/src/contrib/ReadMe_0.99834.tar.gz
3. sudo R CMD INSTALL VA_0.9-2.10.tar.gz
4. sudo R CMD INSTALL ReadMe_0.99834.tar.gz
R is installed. When I am inside the R command prompt (>) at the terminal,
I run:
library()
and get the following snippet:
Packages in library '/usr/local/lib/R/site-library':
ReadMe ReadMe: Software for Automated Content Analysis
VA Verbal Autopsies
Which indicates that both VA and ReadMe are installed.
However, when I try to run readme commands, here is what happens:
readme()
Error: could not find function
"readme"
undergrad()
Error: could not find function
"undergrad"
demo(clinton)
Error in demo(clinton) : No
demo found for topic 'clinton'
I am new to ReadMe and R, but familiar with Unix. Does anyone know how I
can get access to the readme() function?
Many thanks,
Eric Gustavson
