Hello Bruno,
I had problems installing ReadMe on my Mac. I could finally install it by
adding type="source" (using quotation marks) to the install.packages() line.
I see you added it without the quotation marks. I only got some warning
messages but the ReadMe and VA were finally installed. I'm afraid that's the
only way I can help you.

Hello everyone,
I attempted to install the ReadMe software on my mac, after
successfully installing R.
the command,
install.packages("ReadMe",repos="http://gking.harvard.edu")
resulted in a 404 error, the file cannot be found on the server.
and when I tried to install from source, the result was as follows:
install.packages("ReadMe",
repos="http://gking.harvard.edu",
type=source)
Error in as.character(x) :
cannot coerce type 'closure' to vector of type 'character'
I noticed some others have had similar dificulties in installing
ReadMe on Mac OS X. I would be grateful if you could help me shed some
light on how to solve the issue.
kind regards,
Bruno Amaral
